PU Elastomer for Roller-Skate & Inline Wheels

Cast PU elastomer for roller-skate, inline and scooter wheels — high rebound and abrasion resistance, Shore A78–90.

Cast polyurethane elastomer raw material for roller-skate, inline-skate and scooter wheels. PU is the material of choice for skate wheels — high rebound for speed and energy return, outstanding abrasion resistance for long wear, and great grip and control. Durometer (Shore A 78–90), colour, clarity and rebound are all tuned to your wheel via prepolymer + chain-extender formulation; hot-cast TDI systems give the highest rebound.

Key Features

High rebound & speed
Excellent energy return for fast, smooth rolling — key for performance skate wheels.
Outstanding abrasion resistance
Long wear life on rough surfaces, far outlasting rubber or PVC wheels.
Grip & control
Tunable durometer (Shore A 78–90) balances grip, slide and roll speed.
Clear or any colour
Cast transparent, translucent, pigmented or swirl effects for attractive wheels.
Bonds to the hub
Casts firmly onto plastic / aluminium wheel cores for a reliable, durable bond.
Custom formulation
Hardness, rebound, colour and clarity tuned to your wheels. Hot-cast & cold-cast. OEM/ODM.

How Skate Wheels Are Made

1

Set the hub
Place the plastic / aluminium wheel core (hub) into the wheel mould.

2

Mix & colour
Meter and mix the PU system with pigment or leave clear for translucent wheels.

3

Cast & cure
Pour around the hub; the PU bonds to the core and cures to the target durometer.

4

Demould & finish
Demould the wheel; fit bearings for a fast, durable, great-looking skate wheel.

Packaging, Storage & Handling

Packaging
Prepolymer and curative supplied in iron drums; palletised for export. Bulk on request.
Storage
Store sealed in a cool, dry, ventilated area away from moisture. Shelf-life details on request.
Handling & Safety
Avoid eye/skin contact; wear safety glasses. Wash skin with soap and water; flush eyes with water and seek medical attention. Full MSDS on request.

Frequently Asked Questions

What durometer for skate wheels?Typically Shore A 78–90: softer (78–82A) for grip and outdoor surfaces, harder (88–90A) for speed and indoor rinks. We tune to your discipline.
Can you make transparent or coloured wheels?Yes — clear, translucent, solid colours and swirl effects are all possible by pigmenting the PU system.
Hot-cast or cold-cast for skate wheels?Hot-cast TDI systems give the highest rebound and abrasion resistance for performance wheels; cold-cast MDI is easier for general recreational wheels.
Can the formulation be customized?Yes. Rebound, durometer, colour and clarity are all customizable. OEM/ODM supported — request a TDS, MSDS and sample; we reply within 24 hours.
