In-House Formulation Depth

What Goes Into a Blended Polyol System

We do not resell drums. Every component below is formulated and blended in-house, which is why the same core chemistry can range from stiff insulation to soft cushioning.

Polyol

Polyether & polyester polyols blended to your target OH value and reactivity.

+

Catalyst

Amine and metal catalysts tuned for cream, gel and rise-time control.

+

Surfactant

Silicone surfactants for cell structure, flow and surface quality.

+

Flame retardant

Reactive and additive FRs to reach your fire-rating targets.

=

Your blended polyol system

One drum, formulated to your spec — the ready-to-run polyol side (our component A).

Pair it with the matching isocyanate — MDI or TDI, our component B — and you have a complete two-component system ready for your line.

Applications & Industries

Trusted Globally Across Cold Chain, Automotive & Construction Industries

Our blended-polyol systems go into insulated panels, vehicle interiors, building insulation and industrial parts shipped worldwide.

Cold Chain & Refrigeration polyurethane application

Cold Chain

Cold Chain & Refrigeration

Insulated panels, cold rooms and refrigerator cabinets live or die on lambda and closed-cell content. Our rigid systems hold λ ≤0.020–0.024 W/(m·K) with even density across the full panel cross-section.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answer: A blend polyol supplier formulates and blends the polyol side (component A) of a two-component polyurethane system — base polyol, catalyst, silicone surfactant, blowing agent and flame retardant — which reacts with an isocyanate (component B, MDI or TDI) to form finished foam. Quality is verified against recognised methods such as ISO 845 (apparent density) and ASTM D1622 (rigid cellular plastics density). BlendPolyol has run its own polyol-blending plant in Wuxi, China since 2010, with in-house formulation, batch Certificates of Analysis and REACH-compliant export documents. For ground stabilization and slab-jacking (concrete lifting / void filling), we also blend an injection-grade closed-cell polyol at ≥ 30 kg/m³ free-rise density — see our slab jacking material guide. In short: rebound/settlement resistance for slab-jacking foam comes from the formula (closed-cell content ≥90%, compressive modulus ≥8 MPa) — not just a headline density figure.

Are you a manufacturer or a trading company?
We are a manufacturer. We have operated our own polyurethane raw-material plant in Wuxi, China since 2010, with in-house chemical engineers who formulate and blend polyol systems for foam producers worldwide.
What polyol systems and products do you supply?
We supply blended polyol systems for five foam types — rigid, flexible, spray, integral-skin and elastomer — plus the individual components: polyols, catalysts, silicone surfactants and flame retardants. Each polyol can be paired with a matching isocyanate (MDI or TDI) for a complete two-component system.
What is in a blended polyol system?
A blended polyol system is the formulated polyol side — component A on our drums: a base polyol plus catalyst, silicone surfactant, blowing agent and, where required, flame retardant. It reacts with an isocyanate (component B, MDI or TDI) to form the finished foam. Note that some markets label the isocyanate “A” instead — always check the drum label. We adjust every blend to your target density, reactivity and process window.
Can you develop a custom-formulated polyol system?
Yes — custom formulation is our core business. Share your foam type, target density and process, and our engineers typically develop and sample a tailored polyol system within 2–4 weeks.
What is your minimum order quantity, and do you provide samples?
Our MOQ starts from 10 kg, so you can trial and qualify a new line without over-committing. Samples are available for evaluation before you place a bulk order.
Do you provide a Certificate of Analysis and technical documents?
Yes. Every batch ships with a Certificate of Analysis covering viscosity, density, hydroxyl value and moisture. Technical and safety data sheets (TDS/MSDS) are provided on request with no login wall, and export documents are prepared REACH-compliant.
Which applications do your polyol systems cover?
Our systems are used in refrigerator and cold-room insulation, sandwich and PIR panels, pipe insulation, spray insulation and waterproofing, furniture and mattress foam, automotive seating, footwear soles, integral-skin parts and cast PU elastomers.
How do you pack and ship, and can I visit your factory?
Polyol is packed in 250 kg steel drums or 1,000 kg IBC totes, palletised for container export worldwide. You are welcome to visit our factory in Wuxi, Jiangsu — if you arrive at Wuxi airport (WUX) or railway station, we can arrange a pick-up directly to the plant.
What is a blend polyol supplier?
A blend polyol supplier formulates and blends the polyol side of a two-component polyurethane system in-house — combining base polyol, catalyst, silicone surfactant, blowing agent and flame retardant into a ready-to-run component A, rather than reselling raw drums bought from a third party. We have formulated and blended polyol systems from our own Wuxi, China plant since 2010.
How do I evaluate a PU raw material supplier?
Confirm they manufacture rather than trade, request a batch Certificate of Analysis referencing recognised test methods such as ISO 845 (apparent density) and ASTM D1622 (rigid foam density), check for REACH-compliant export documentation, and ask whether they can custom-formulate a polyol system to your target density and process window — not just supply a single standard grade.
How do you supply polyol for ground stabilization and slab-jacking / injection grouting?
Yes — we supply the polyol side of two-component, injection-applied closed-cell PU systems used for ground stabilization, void filling and concrete slab lifting (also called slab jacking or polyurethane injection grouting). Our standard grade is a spray/injection closed-cell system premixed with HFC-245fa blowing agent (free-rise density ≥ 30 kg/m³, cream time 4–6 s), and we also blend a lower-GWP water-blown grade for markets restricting HFC blowing agents. Compressive strength is verified against ASTM D1621 (compressive properties of rigid cellular plastics). See our slab jacking material guide or the closed-cell slab-lifting foam product page for full specifications.
Does the polyol formula affect how much slab-jacking foam rebounds or settles after it cures under the slab?
Yes — rebound and long-term settlement are formula-driven, not just a density number. Our slab-jacking closed-cell polyol systems are formulated for high closed-cell content (≥90%, verified to ASTM D6226) and compressive modulus ≥8 MPa, so the cured foam resists long-term recompression under the slab instead of rebounding or settling back. We offer two grades — a water-blown eco system (≥200 kPa compressive strength, ≥90% closed cell, 100:100 polyol:MDI ratio) and an HFC-245fa system (higher-density, free-rise ≥30 kg/m³) for markets without blowing-agent restrictions — and both are batch-tested for dimensional stability under thermal/humid ageing per ASTM D2126 (≤3% dimensional change, -30 to 80°C). See our slab jacking material guide or the closed-cell slab-lifting foam product page for full specifications.
