POP Integral-Skin PU for Furniture & Office-Chair Armrests

POP-based self-skinning integral-skin PU for furniture & office-chair armrests, gaming-chair arms, sofa & stool arms — tough leather-look skin over a soft core in one shot.

A self-skinning (integral-skin) polyurethane system formulated for furniture & office-chair armrests and seating parts. Built on a polymer-polyol (POP) base for a higher open-cell ratio and stronger skin, it moulds a tough leather-look armrest pad over a soft, comfortable core in one shot — no PVC cover. Ideal for office & task chairs, gaming chairs, sofas and stools: durable, easy to clean and customisable in any colour.

Why POP Integral-Skin for Armrests

Tougher skin from POP
A polymer-polyol (POP) base raises the open-cell ratio and mechanical strength of the skin for longer-lasting armrests.
Leather-look in one shot
Dense skin and soft core form together — premium feel without a separate PVC or fabric cover.
Comfortable soft-touch
The cushioned core gives a warm, supportive rest for elbows and forearms.
Abrasion-resistant & durable
Resists scuffs, scratches and fading through years of office use.
Easy to clean
Smooth skin wipes clean with mild detergent — hygienic for shared workspaces.
Lower part density & cost
High POP grafting helps reduce part density and production cost without losing skin quality.

Processing

Moulded Self-Skinning
Pour into a heated mould (40–45 °C); skin forms against the wall, demould in minutes.
Insert Over-Moulding
Foam-in-place around the steel armrest bracket / core.
Two-Component System
POP polyol : isocyanate = 100 : 42–45 by weight.
Machine Compatible
Runs on low- and high-pressure PU foaming machines.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why a POP-based integral-skin grade for armrests?Polymer polyol (POP) raises the open-cell ratio and skin strength, giving tougher, longer-lasting armrest pads at a lower part density and cost.
Is this a finished armrest or raw material? It is a two-component raw-material system (POP polyol + isocyanate). Moulded around the bracket, it self-skins into a finished armrest pad.
Can colour and shape be customised?Yes. In-mould colour gives any shade and your mould defines the shape — straight, contoured, 4D and more. OEM/ODM supported.
What is the cycle time?Cream ~17 s, gel ~70 s, rise ~85 s at a mould temperature of 40–45 °C, suiting high-volume armrest production.
