PU Microcellular Foam for Shock-Absorption Blocks

Two-component microcellular PU foam (A-1170 polyol + B-6003 iso) for shock-absorption blocks & vibration-damping parts — Shore A 60-90, rebound 35-55%, tunable damping (tan δ 0.1-0.3), fatigue 10⁶-10⁷ cycles, −40°C to +120°C. Lightweight cushioning.

Our microcellular polyurethane foam system is a two-component material (A-1170 polyol + B-6003 isocyanate) cast into shock-absorption blocks and vibration-damping parts. The fine microcellular structure gives it excellent energy absorption, high rebound and long fatigue life — lightweight yet durable cushioning for vibration dampers, motor mounts, anti-vibration pads and impact bumpers, with hardness and damping tunable to your load and frequency.

Key Features

Excellent shock absorption
Microcellular structure absorbs impact and vibration energy for quieter, smoother operation.
Tunable damping vs rebound
Damping factor tan δ 0.10–0.30; choose high-rebound (35–55%) or controlled-damping variants.
Long fatigue life
10⁶–10⁷ cycles under typical cyclic loading for durable, long-service parts.
Lightweight microcellular foam
Lower weight than solid rubber/elastomer at the same cushioning performance.
Wide service temperature
Performs from −40 °C to +120 °C with low compression set for dimensional stability.
Customizable formulation
Hardness, density and damping tuned to your load, frequency and part. OEM/ODM supported.

Processing & How to Use

1

Prepare
Condition the A-1170 polyol and B-6003 isocyanate; prepare the block/part mould.

2

Mix & cast
Meter and mix the two components, then cast into the mould using suitable casting equipment.

3

Foam & cure
The microcellular foam rises and cures to the target density and hardness in the mould.

4

Demould & finish
Demould the shock block; trim or finish as required for the final part.

Packaging, Storage & Handling

Packaging
Polyol and isocyanate supplied in iron drums; palletised for export. Bulk volumes on request.
Storage
Store sealed in a cool, dry, ventilated area away from moisture. Shelf-life details on request.
Handling & Safety
Avoid eye/skin contact; wear safety glasses. Wash skin with soap and water; flush eyes with water and seek medical attention. Full MSDS on request.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the shock block a foam or a solid elastomer? It is a microcellular PU foam — a fine closed-cell foamed structure that is lighter than solid rubber/elastomer while delivering high energy absorption and rebound.
How do I specify damping vs rebound?Choose high-rebound (35–55%) for vibration isolation where energy return matters, or controlled-damping (tan δ 0.20–0.30) where energy dissipation is the goal. Share your loading frequency and amplitude and we recommend a formula.
What hardness range is available?Typically Shore A 60–90, tuned via formulation to match your load and part geometry.
Can the formulation be customized?Yes. Hardness, density and damping can be tuned to your application. OEM/ODM supported — request a TDS, MSDS and sample; we reply within 24 hours.
