Rigid Polyurethane Foam Material Manufacturer

In short: we manufacture fully formulated rigid polyurethane foam systems (blended polyol + matching MDI) for insulated sandwich panels, refrigerators and freezers, automotive parts and protective packaging — reaching λ ≤21 mW/(m·K) and ≥92% closed cells, blown with cyclopentane, water or HCFC-141b. Blended in our own plant in China since 2010.

What Is Rigid Polyurethane Foam?

Rigid polyurethane foam is a closed-cell thermoset made by reacting a blended polyol (polyol, catalyst, silicone surfactant, blowing agent and flame retardant) with an isocyanate, normally MDI. On our drums and data sheets the polyol side is component A and the isocyanate side is component B. The gas trapped in the closed cells — not the plastic itself — is what insulates, which is why closed-cell content and cell size drive the thermal conductivity.

Because the two components react in place, the foam expands to fill the cavity and bonds to the facer, giving an insulating core and structural stiffness in one step. That combination is why it dominates cold chain, appliance and building-envelope insulation.

Key Applications of Our Rigid PU Foam

Building & Construction Industry

Rigid PU foam is poured between metal, MgO or OSB facers to make insulated sandwich panels, and cast into decorative mouldings and wood-imitation profiles.

  • Excellent insulation: λ as low as 20–24 mW/(m·K) cuts energy loss through the building envelope.
  • Lightweight and high strength: compressive strength of 140–220 kPa at only 30–43 kg/m³, so panels carry load without loading the structure.
  • Dimensionally stable: good low-temperature stability and adhesion to the facer across the full panel cross-section.

Automotive Sector Components

Rigid and semi-rigid PU systems are used for interior and exterior vehicle components where weight and noise matter.

  • Weight reduction: low-density foam cores cut component weight and improve fuel efficiency.
  • Sound absorption: the cellular structure damps noise and vibration for a quieter cabin.
  • Formability: good flow fills complex tools with an even density distribution.

Home Appliance Thermal Insulation

SPC-10081 is our dedicated refrigerator and freezer system, blown with cyclopentane (CP or CP/IP).

  • Superior insulation: ≤21 mW/(m·K) at 15°C keeps cabinet energy consumption down.
  • Fast demould: demould time of 6–8 minutes supports high line throughput.
  • Even flow: excellent flowability distributes density evenly through the cabinet wall.
  • Dimensional stability: ≤0.5% at -20°C and ≤1.0% at 100°C (GB/T 8811).

Protective Packaging Solutions

Foam-in-place rigid systems form to the product, so fragile and irregular goods travel protected.

  • Excellent cushioning: the closed-cell structure absorbs shock and vibration in transit.
  • Customisable: density and reactivity tuned to the part and the packing line.

Matching MDI supplied

Recommended ratio for SPC-10081 is 100 polyol : 12–14 cyclopentane : 136–145 MDI.

Frequently Asked Questions

What density can I get from your rigid polyurethane foam?
It depends on the grade. Our refrigerator system (SPC-10081) moulds at ≥35 kg/m³ and discontinuous panel grades at ≥40 kg/m³. For sandwich panels there are two routes: the cyclopentane grade SPC-10062-CP is a lightweight insulation core at 30–43 kg/m³, while the water-blown grade SPC-10062-W is a high-density 80–120 kg/m³ core for structural and sound-insulation panels.
What thermal conductivity do your rigid foams reach?
SPC-10081 reaches ≤21 mW/(m·K) at 15°C (GB/T 3399). ES6220 reaches ≤22 mW/(m·K), DmcPanel 1812 ≤24 mW/(m·K) at 20°C, and SPC-10062 can reach ≤20 mW/(m·K) at the higher core density.
Which blowing agents do you offer?
Cyclopentane (CP or CP/IP), water-blown, and HCFC-141b. Cyclopentane and water-blown are the compliant route for the EU and North America, where HCFC-141b is being phased out — we supply 141b grades only for markets where it is still permitted.
Do you supply the matching isocyanate?
Yes. Rigid systems run on MDI. For SPC-10081 the recommended ratio is 100 parts polyol : 12–14 cyclopentane : 136–145 MDI by weight; exact values depend on your processing conditions.
What is your minimum order quantity?
From 10 kg for custom formulation trials, so you can validate the system on your own line before scaling to container quantities.
Can I get the TDS, MSDS and a free sample?
Yes — both are provided on request with no login wall. Tell us your foam type, target density, process and volume and we reply within 24 hours.
