Low-Density PU Packaging Foam (Foam-in-Place)

Low-density (8-10 kg/m³) two-component PU foam-in-place packaging material — shockproof cushioning with ≥90% recovery for precision instruments, electronics, optics, glassware & fragile goods. Lightweight & conformable.

Our low-density foam-in-place packaging material is a two-component polyurethane system that reacts with isocyanate to expand and cure in place, forming a custom shock-absorbing cushion around the packaged item. With an ultra-low free density of 8–10 kg/m³ and ≥ 90% recovery after compression, it delivers excellent shockproof and anti-vibration protection for precision instruments, electronics, optics, glassware and other fragile goods — lightweight, conformable and low-cost.

Processing & How to Use

1

Line the box
Place a plastic film/liner in the carton and position the item to be protected.

2

Mix & dispense
Combine the polyol with isocyanate (MDI) and dispense the liquid into the box.

3

Foam in place
The foam expands around the item — cream 10–25 s, gel 50–70 s, tack-free 70–90 s.

4

Close & ship
The cured cushion locks the item in place; close the box and ship with confidence.

Packaging, Storage & Handling

Packaging
Polyol in 220 kg net iron drums; MDI in 250 kg drums. Palletised for export; bulk on request.
Storage
Store sealed in a cool, dry, ventilated area away from moisture. Shelf-life details available on request.
Handling & Safety
Avoid eye/skin contact; wear safety glasses. Wash skin with soap and water; flush eyes with water and seek medical attention. Full MSDS on request.
